The Governor of Hadhramaut and the Chairman of the General Authority for Lands inspect the progress of work on the second phase of Khor Al-Mukalla.

Hadhramaut Governor, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, accompanied by the Chairman of the General Authority for Land, Survey and Urban Planning, Anis bin Awad Baharitha, and the Governor’s Undersecretaries for Technical Affairs, Engineer Amin Saeed Barziq, and for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Salem Basarih, inspected the progress of work on the second phase of the Khor Al-Mukalla project. The governor and the authority chairman listened to the project engineers’ reports on the progress of digging the canal and the commencement of excavation work for two branched canals, one connected to the first phase, and the other connected to the Al-Kitab Bridge area. They also began installing cleaning grates for the canal walls.

Anis bin Awad Baharitha, head of the General Authority for Land, Survey, and Urban Planning, praised the scale of the tireless work in Hadhramaut, emphasizing that this project is a courageous step and a positive message reflecting the local authority leadership’s commitment to development and the adoption of major projects despite the difficult circumstances currently facing the country. He commended the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading Limited for implementing the project.

For his part, Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, General Manager of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading Limited, confirmed that work is proceeding at a rapid pace and in full harmony with the relevant authorities, according to the timeline and in accordance with the design of the project’s consulting office, the office of Professor Dr. Engineer Fathi Abd Rabbuh and Partners, the design and general supervisor of the second phase of the Khor Mukalla project.

They were accompanied on the visit by Sheikh Abdul Qader Saeed Al Amoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading, Eng. Saleh Al Amri, Director General of the Ministry of Public Works and Roads Office, and his deputy Eng. Naif Bin Shamlan, and the Director Generals of the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning branch office in Hadhramaut Coast and Valley, Abdullah Hassan Bin Ali Al Hajj and Salem Abdullah Bamhriz.
