Hadhramaut Governor praises ongoing work on the second phase of the Mukalla Creek project.

The Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, accompanied by the Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Basarih, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Amoudi Group, Sheikh Abdul Qader Saeed Al-Amoudi, inspected this morning, Thursday, January 11, 2024, the ongoing work in the second phase of the Khor Al-Mukalla project, which is being implemented by the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading Limited. Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, General Manager of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading Limited, reviewed the progress of work in the first phase of the project, which includes excavation work with a completion rate of 20%, stressing that the group’s crews are working hard to complete the project. For his part, Engineer Hisham Abdel-Razzaq, the site engineer at the engineering consulting office, the designer and supervisor of the second phase of the Khor Al-Mukalla project, confirmed that the excavation operations are at levels starting from level (5.00+) to level (3.00+) then to level (1.20+) and from there to level (0.00), while excavation is taking place to level (-2.00) at the Al-Munawara Bridge and the Chinese Bridge, where the excavation work has exceeded 90,000 cubic meters, in addition to groundwater drainage work during excavation, and the removal of services hindering the project, such as electricity, sewage, and water.
For his part, the Governor of Hadhramaut praised the progress of the work, emphasizing the support of the local authorities in the governorate for the project’s success and overcoming difficulties. Engineer Saleh Al-Amri, Director General of the Ministry of Public Works and Roads Office in the Hadhramaut Coast and a member of the Executive Unit for the Khor Al-Mukalla Project, indicated that the project’s Executive Unit will work to remove all obstacles at work sites, in coordination with relevant government offices and agencies, to facilitate the project’s work.
The visit was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Najjar, Director of the Khor Al-Mukalla Project, Phase II; Dr. Hussein Al-Amoudi, Director of Public Relations and Media at Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading; and the project’s engineering, administrative, and technical staff.
