Under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries and with German funding, Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading takes over the fish dock project in Aden

On Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, in the interim capital Aden, the handover ceremony took place for the site of the project to construct a new dock for the fishery center in Aden, funded by the German government through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and implemented by the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trade Limited, under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Saqatri, and in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trade Limited, Sheikh Abdul Qader Saeed Al-Amoudi, the General Manager of the Al-Amoudi Group, Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries for the production, marketing and planning and information sectors, the Chairman of the Aden Gulf Fisheries Authority and the Assistant Undersecretary. The project includes the demolition and reconstruction of the dockyard pier to modern technical specifications, with a length of 64 meters and deepening to facilitate the smooth and easy entry and exit of fishing boats. It also includes the installation of comprehensive lighting and a water network to serve the dock and the facility. Thomas Thrugood, the project manager for the fish dockyard, emphasized that the project will represent a qualitative leap for the fisheries sector in Aden Governorate in particular and Yemen in general. He praised the company executing the project, Al-Amoudi Yemeni Contracting and Trading Group Limited, for its extensive experience in ports and maritime works. For his part, Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, General Manager of Al-Amoudi Contracting and Trading Group, indicated that the group’s engineering, administrative, and technical teams will execute the work according to the highest international quality standards and within the project’s timeline.
The handover was attended by the Projects Manager of Al-Amoudi Group, Engineer Sadiq Yafouz, the Directors General of Fisheries Planning and Projects at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, and representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Engineer Mazen Doubleh, the General Supervisor of the Project, Abeer Atef, the Project Coordinator, Bushra Al-Sharaei, the Unit Officer, Anis Al-Sharjabi, the Program Manager of the German Development Bank (KfW) in Yemen, and the engineering and administrative staff of the project.
