Governor Bin Madi directs to overcome challenges and begin timing the second phase of the Khor Al Mukalla project.

Today, in Mukalla, the start date for the second phase of the Mukalla Creek Project was approved, funded by the local authority in Hadhramaut Governorate.
Hadhramaut Governor, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, emphasized during his meeting today with the Director General of the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Saleh Fayez Al-Amri, and the leadership of the company implementing the project, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading, Sheikh Abdul Qader Saeed Al-Amoudi, and the Group’s General Manager, Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, the need to quickly begin this vital project, given its importance in bringing about a developmental and tourism shift in Hadhramaut. This project will contribute to highlighting the city of Mukalla, adopting new road routes to alleviate congestion, and working in accordance with approved technical studies.
The second phase of the Mukalla Creek project includes the construction of a two-branch marine canal extending from the beginning of the creek below the Chinese Bridge to the Book Roundabout, and another branch to the end of Baradam Stadium. The project also includes the construction of a new two-lane suspension bridge at the site of the current Chinese Bridge, a suspension bridge from the intersection at the entrance to Al-Shifa Roundabout towards the Electricity Corporation, linking the main streets with new internal roads to help solve the traffic congestion problem in Al-Mukalla, and establishing green spaces, recreational areas, and investment areas.
On June 29, 2023, His Excellency the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the Mukalla Creek project and directed Hadhramaut Governor Mabkhout bin Madi to overcome the challenges and commence the project, given its importance in bringing about a developmental and tourism shift in the Hadhramaut capital.
