Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik today inspected the Hilla and Ibn Sina bridges in the city of Mukalla in Hadhramaut Governorate as part of the efforts made to drain floodwater and facilitate the movement of citizens. He visited the bridges accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Mani bin Yamin, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tariq Al-Akbari, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, and the General Manager of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trade Limited, Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi. During the inspection visit to the Hilla suspension bridge, which is located on the western side of the entrance to the city of Mukalla and connects the city to several governorates (Shabwa, Abyan, Aden) and the governorates of the Republic, the bridge is 325 meters long and consists of 5 openings, each of which is 25 meters wide and 6 meters high, and retaining walls of 100 meters long in each direction. It also contains two lanes for vehicles, each side of which is 10 meters wide. He also visited the Ibn Sina suspension bridge, which is 415 meters long and consists of 7 openings, each of which is 25 meters wide and 6 meters high. The bridge has 100-meter-long concrete retaining walls in each direction, and two lanes for vehicles, each 10 meters wide on each side. Two openings have been added to the bridge, each 20 meters wide and 6 meters high, designed to match the basic design of the bridge. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of expanding bridge projects as vital projects, and paying attention to draining rainwater to avoid any disasters, noting the support of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in the sisterly State of Kuwait in financing these two bridges, and praising the efforts of the Yemeni Al-Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trade Limited in implementing the project.
